Escape Reality with Science Fiction

2021 so far hasn’t proved to be much different than 2020, and it has everyone wanting to escape reality. Or hopefully it isn’t just us wanting that. Science fiction books live in an alternate world. Aliens, vampires, werewolves, insane love stories and so much more can live in these worlds. Let’s take a deep dive into the top four science fiction books today.

Ready Player Two – Ernest Cline

This book is a sequel to Ready Player One that Cline released back in 2011. It’s been a really long wait for this one, and we have been seriously waiting on the edge of our seats. Two worlds are at stake here when Wade Watts makes a discovery that changes every little thing. Quickly we are chasing a riddle and a quest and now a little Easter egg that are all hinting at this mysterious prize. As a new rival awaits that is planning to kill millions to get what he wants, there’s a lot at stake here in Cline’s newest book. Dive into this world here.

The Stand – Stephen King

When the description of a book begins with, “This is how the world ends.” You know you are about to go on a wild ride. Especially when Stephen King is involved. A computer error takes us down an apocalyptic tale that lives a desolate landscape and 99% of the population dead. Yes, technology is that powerful people (at least in Stephen King’s world). The last 1% of the world is now fighting between the ultimate battle of good and evil. Stephen King originally wrote this back in 1978 but more than 150,000 words have been edited out of the original manuscript making the story even more powerful. Become a little bit afraid of technology and listen to this book here.

1984 – George Orwell

Let’s mix war, politics and love. Now we have George Orwell’s science fiction story 1984. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength. That’s at least what The Party is watching for. Like Big Brother is watching you style. Everyone is paranoid. Winston Smith, a member of the Outer Party, is dead. Well at least as he knows it because he has committed thoughtcrime. Seriously, someone knows. But then he encounters Julia, who is beautiful and tempting. From there.. Well, you can put the pieces together. Or can you? Find out here.
